Fix standalone config fetch (raw per-file; archive is 403)

wasim requested to merge fix/config-fetch-raw into main

The GitLab proxy blocks /-/archive/ (403) but serves /-/raw/, so curl|bash installed the toolchain then failed at config placement. Now fetches the 3 config files over raw. Also fixes an unbound-variable crash in the EXIT cleanup trap. Verified end-to-end against the live server: exit 0, all config files placed.
